Hey sweet bride! If you are reading this, that means you just said yes to your forever person and are diving into the world of wedding planning! Which is so fun, but also wow… a lot!! You may have asked yourself, “Do I need to hire a wedding planner?” If so, you’re in the right place! I’m Miranda and I am a wedding photographer in Huntsville, Alabama. After 5+ years in the wedding industry I have learn one thing for certain: Hiring a professional wedding planner to bring your vision to life will allow your wedding day to flow seamlessly. From design and logistics, to vendor recommendations and leading the day, the right wedding planner makes all the difference throughout your wedding experience.

As a luxury wedding photographer based in Huntsville, Alabama, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the most talented, creative, and dedicated wedding planners in the state! I wanted to go deeper and learn more from a weddings planner’s perspective. I sat down and interviewed my friend Stefany Keisler, owner and lead planner of Creating Moment Events. I asked her questions from a wedding photographer’s perspective that I believe every bride needs to know. This blog was written to help you as the bride, navigate wedding planning with ease.
Let’s dive in.
“I’m Stefany, the founder of Creating Moments, a full-service wedding planning and design company. I’m based in Alabama, primarily serving Birmingham and Huntsville, but I work with clients across the country who value a seamless, elevated wedding experience.
My path into wedding planning wasn’t accidental, it was a natural extension of how I’ve always been wired. I’ve always been deeply organized, detail-oriented, and drawn to creating meaningful experiences for others. What started as a passion quickly turned into a business after I realized how much I loved not just the beauty of a wedding day, but the strategy, logistics, and intentional design behind it.
I launched Creating Moments in 2023, and since then, I’ve had the honor of planning and executing weddings that are not only visually stunning, but feel effortless for my clients and their guests. For me, it’s about more than aesthetics. It’s about creating a day that flows beautifully, feels calm, and allows my couples to be fully present.
At the heart of what I do is service. I work with couples who want more than just a checklist. They want guidance, expertise, and an experience that’s thoughtfully curated from start to finish.”

“Hiring a full-service wedding planner and designer doesn’t just support your wedding day, it completely shapes how it feels, how it flows, and how it’s remembered. Long before your wedding day arrives, every detail has been intentionally thought through. Your design is cohesive, elevated, and a true reflection of you. Your vendor team is hand-selected and aligned. Your timeline is built with purpose, not just logistics, but the experience of the day in mind. So when the day comes, you are not stepping into something you have been managing. You are stepping into something that has been fully created for you. Instead of answering questions or making decisions, you are present. You are soaking in every moment, trusting that every detail is already handled. Your family is not fielding logistics. Your wedding party is not working. Everyone gets to experience the day alongside you.Behind the scenes, I am not just executing a plan. I am leading your entire vendor team, protecting the design vision, managing the flow of the day, and ensuring every moment unfolds exactly as it was intended. The difference is not just in how your wedding looks. It is in how it feels. Effortless. Elevated. Fully experienced.”
“If I had to narrow it down to the top three vendors a bride should book first, it would be the venue, planner, and photographer. These three truly set the foundation for everything else. 1. Venue Your venue is the anchor of your entire wedding. It determines your date, guest count, overall aesthetic, and often influences your budget more than anything else. Once the venue is secured, everything else can begin to fall into place with clarity. 2. Planner Bringing in a planner early is one of the smartest decisions you can make. A full-service planner helps you build your budget, recommend trusted vendors, and guide every decision from the very beginning. Without that guidance, couples often overspend in certain areas or make choices they later need to undo. Having a planner early ensures your entire planning process is intentional, efficient, and cohesive. 3. Photographer Your photographer is responsible for capturing how your day is remembered for years to come. The best photographers book quickly, especially for peak dates, so securing them early ensures you get someone whose style truly aligns with your vision. Beyond that, they play a key role in your timeline and overall flow of the day.”

“From a planner’s perspective, the photographers I value most are the ones who understand that they’re not just capturing the day, they’re a key part of how the day unfolds. 1) Strong communication and responsiveness is at the top of the list. From the planning phase to the wedding day and even after, clear and timely communication makes everything smoother. When a photographer is proactive and easy to reach, it creates a better experience not only for me as the planner, but most importantly for the client. 2) A true team mindset is equally important. The planner and photographer work closely together more than almost any other vendors on the wedding day. When there’s mutual respect, collaboration, and alignment, the entire day flows seamlessly. The best photographers don’t operate in silos, they work with the team to create the best possible experience. 3) Efficiency and a quick turnaround time also matter more than ever. It’s 2026, and couples are excited to relive their day almost immediately. Having a next-day sneak peek of around 20 images and a full gallery delivered within four weeks should be the standard. That level of service keeps the excitement going and reflects a high level of professionalism.BONUS: And then there are the added bonuses that truly set someone apart. Providing a small set of design-focused sneak peek images for the planner allows us to quickly share and showcase the event, which ultimately benefits the entire vendor team. Drone footage is another element that can elevate a gallery and capture the full scope of the day in a way that feels dynamic and cinematic. At the end of the day, I’m looking for photographers who not only deliver beautiful work, but who contribute to a seamless, collaborative, and elevated experience from start to finish.”
“For me, collaboration starts well before the wedding day. I work closely with the photographer while building the timeline, making sure we’ve allowed the right amount of time for each moment without the day ever feeling rushed. We talk through priorities, lighting considerations, travel time, and any must-have shots so that everything is intentional from the beginning. On the wedding day, it’s all about constant, clear communication and a shared understanding of the flow. The photographer and I are in sync on what’s happening next, where we need people, and how to keep things moving without making it feel forced. I’m managing the logistics behind the scenes so the photographer can focus on capturing, while also stepping in to help gather people or adjust timing if needed. Ultimately, the goal is a day that feels effortless. When the planner and photographer are aligned, the timeline flows naturally, nothing feels chaotic or delayed, and the result is both a beautifully documented day and an experience that felt just as good as it looked.”

“My biggest piece of advice is this: how your wedding feels will matter far more than how it looks. It’s so easy to get caught up in the visuals, the flowers, the details, the perfectly curated moments. And while those things are beautiful and important, they are not what you and your guests will remember most. What you will remember is whether the day felt calm or chaotic… whether you were fully present or pulled in a hundred different directions… whether your guests felt taken care of or unsure of what to do next. A stunning wedding that feels disorganized, rushed, or stressful will never land the way you think it will. So my “hot take” is this: prioritize the experience just as much as the aesthetics. Invest in the pieces that create flow, guidance, and ease, like a well-built timeline, a strong vendor team, and thoughtful guest experience. That’s what creates a wedding that not only looks incredible, but feels effortless from start to finish. Because at the end of the day, your guests may not remember your linens or your place settings… but they will remember how your wedding made them feel. And so will you.”
