A Rainy Anniversary Session at Downtown Huntsville

Moments before this shoot, (like literally 10 minutes) it came a DOWNPOUR in Downtown Huntsville!! Gray sky, rain so hard you could barely see to drive, thunder… the whole nine yards. But then, just a we arrived and got out of the car to take photos, the sky opened up to sunshine! Don’t you just love Alabama weather?! I had the best time with Audrey and Jonathan! They wanted their five year anniversary photo session in Downtown Huntsville. When planning our shoot, Audrey told me that her and Jonathan were married at the Weeden House five years ago. They wanted to go back to this special venue and have photos taken in the neighborhoods surrounding.

Before the session

The morning of the shoot, I checked my three weather apps and all were saying beautiful clear sky. I took a sigh of relief and went along with me day. Well, just as I was getting ready to leave for the shoot I checked my weather app one more time. And would you believe that it had changed dramatically?! It was calling for rain, wind, and a line of storms. However, after the thin line of storms, it looked like clear weather was behind it. So I called Audrey and asked what their thoughts were. Do we reschedule? Or do we go ahead with it. We all decided that Alabama weather can change in a matter of moments so lets go for it! I told them that I would bring my clear umbrella and we went for it! And wow!! The photos could not have turned out any better!!

During the session

I loved getting to know these two, and learn about their life together. Fun fact: Audrey and Jonathan are both pastor’s kids (PKs) just like me! We bonded over that! ALSO, another fun fact: Audrey and Jonathan were the first couple to use my new changing tent. (IYKYK) If you don’t know what I am talking about, check my instagram reels and stories. 😉

This was the most perfect rainy anniversary session at Downtown Huntsville ever and I am so grateful I got to capture this sweet milestone in Audrey and Jonathan’s life!
