Your photographer will typically start with the details! So put everything that you want photographed, including your stationery, jewelry, shoes, perfume, etc, into one box. This makes it easier for your photographer to gather your items and it helps keep your wedding day timeline running smoothly and efficiently.
*Pro tip: Create a check list of items that you want photographed ahead of time. This way, when it is time to gather your items, you will not forget any important items!
This one may sound simple, but I promise it will save time and energy on your wedding day. If you are wanting pictures of your bouquet with your bridal details, then have your florist deliver your bouquet(s) to where you as the bride are getting ready. Extra flowers can also be used for flat lay detail photos! 😉
Pro tip: Have your florist deliver the groomsmen boutonnieres to the groom’s getting ready suite.
Let’s be honest… water bottles and open bags of potato chips in the background of a photo can kill the elegant wedding day vibe. 🤪 And while photoshop does exist, it is 110% more effective to choose a specific area in your bridal suite (preferably by a window) to keep free from background distractions.
When your photographer arrives on your wedding day, they will typically start with photographing your bridal details & then move into “getting ready photos.” This is the time when it is recommended to have your hair and makeup finished. (This also includes your bridesmaids!!) Your photographer can help you with planning your timeline so that you know when your makeup needs to be done by.
Pro tip: If you want a cute “PJ shot” with your girls, it is even more important to make sure everyone’s hair and makeup is complete in time.
Your photographer will photograph all 3 rings during the detail portion of the day. In order to keep the timeline running smoothly, it’s best to keep all 3 💍s with you while getting ready! It is also wise to assign a specific person to be “in charge” of the rings for the day (or at least until ceremony). This could be a bridesmaid, parent, or friend. Designating a person to know where the rings are at all times, will save you & your photographer time and stress. It’s the little things, friend!
